About R. Newman
It all started five decades ago on an ordinary night. Exhausted from the challenges of seeking inspiration for the latest designs in my early architectural career, I made a significant blunder by settling down to watch a game of Bridge – a pastime my father occasionally engaged in with his friends.
I call it a blunder because, from that moment until now, I've found myself torn between two passions: my love for Architecture and my newfound enthusiasm for BRIDGE. The allure of dissecting complex scenarios and making quick decisions became increasingly addictive over time.
The demands of my profession left little time for organizing and documenting the wealth of information I'd accumulated over the years and addressing the various questions that lingered in my mind:
-
Crafting a teaching approach capable of inspiring and engaging younger generations hesitant to navigate the learning curve of this intricate yet captivating sport.
-
Tackling the numerous flaws in the system that persistently occupied my thoughts.
-
Presenting, in a comprehensive and instructive manner, the conventions of the SYSTEM.
-
Finally, in 2020, spurred by the pandemic and encouraged by my students who consistently pushed me to compile the information that had transformed them into skilled players, I decided to embark on the task.
